365 Days is another story of a dominant man who falls hopelessly in love with the girl of his dreams, heavily influenced by the narratives of adult thrillers like Fifty Shades of Grey (literally). Whatever it takes to win her over, he is willing to do. An Italian criminal named Massimo is made to assume leadership of the empire after his father passes away unexpectedly. The woman of his dreams was the one solace in his complex life. When he finally caught sight of her at the airport in Sicily, he made the decision that she would be his forever. The premise—a megalomaniac controls a woman’s life and gives her a year to fall in love with him—is as troubling as it might first appear. Could it perhaps be another instance of Stockholm syndrome? Definitely!
365 Days Plot Summary: What Is The Film About?
The movie demonstrates how Massimo and Laura are clever and commanding at work. Laura runs the risk of having a band perform at the hotel she manages. Due to their boisterous behaviour in the hotel, the band received widespread media notice. The gamble paid off because the hotel was reserved for the following four weekends. Massimo jumps in the meantime. He demands a return with interest and threatens the company he invested in with their dirt. Massimo discovered not to trust anyone around him and to always be watchful after witnessing his father being shot by a rival gang.
At work, Laura had total control, but not at home. Her lover ignored her and was frequently preoccupied. They left Warsaw on her 29th birthday and went to Sicily. She left the restaurant’s celebration to use the restroom, and it was there that she first encountered Massimo. Are you lost, sweet girl? he asked her in a seductively deep voice (a dialogue that is repeated several times in the film). Laura managed to get back on track without talking to Massimo. Laura quarrelled with her boyfriend the following morning and checked out of the hotel. She wanted to go back after some time alone, but she couldn’t figure out how. She was found wandering the streets of Italy and carried away by some men. Massimo described the arrangement to her once she awoke in the middle of the night. She was the girl of his dreams, so he had paintings of her made and displayed on the wall. Although they met by chance, he wanted to make sure that they were meant to be together forever. He was accustomed to getting things done his way, but he reasoned that he shouldn’t be pushy when it came to love (how thoughtful!). So, for the next 365 days, he would hold her captive, and if she didn’t fall in love with him, he would release her.
Massimo wasn’t a horrible mobster; he took action against those who engaged in the trafficking of minors and opposed it. His dad had warned him against it. When a group asked his father for assistance in trafficking young girls, they attempted to pay him off with the bodies, but he refused. During that exchange, he was shot. Massimo kept doing what his father had done. Only briefly do we learn about Massimo’s life outside of being a beast in bed, despite the film’s intention to explore the gangster element of things.
How Did Laura Fall In Love With Massimo?
Laura made numerous vain attempts to flee Massimo’s home. She protested when he told her to accompany him on his journey. Following their altercation, Laura accompanied him to his meeting. Before the meeting, he brought her shopping. Massimo continued to grab Laura by the neck whenever she refused to follow his instructions as Laura continued to express her disinterest in him. She once attempted to flee the store and enlisted the aid of some uniformed guys, but they turned them down when they noticed Massimo following her. Instead of trying to escape her predicament, he urged her to accept it. He saw it as an opportunity that she had been given by fate. She then wanted her smartphone and laptop. Massimo gave her back her comfort food, along with her phone and laptop. As a sign that Laura had accepted her fate and was prepared to stay with him for however long he kept her, she called her mother and informed her about a job chance in Sicily.
The following morning, Laura awoke to find Massimo next to her. Laura considered touching him, but she refrained. She intended to seduce him without providing him with the pleasure he craved. Massimo reciprocated with her, which led to a jealousy and mocking incident. Laura dressed sensually and danced with other guys at a conference that was taking place at a secret party in an effort to divert Massimo from his work. When the individual in question began acting improperly, her strategy underwent a significant change. Massimo shot the man in his hands because he lost control of his temper. The situation from the previous night had gotten out of hand when Laura awoke the following morning on the boat. Her foolishness sparked a conflict between two powerful families. She was unwilling to accept responsibility because his friend had actually tried to rape her. Laura tripped and fell into the lake when they were arguing. She was saved by Massimo. Laura experienced a feeling as a result. She was aware that, given the circumstances, he had the option of choosing not to save her, but he decided to put her needs ahead of his empire’s security. They grew inseparable after that.
365 Days Ending Explained: Did Laura Die In The End?
Massimo and Laura were deeply in love, but it was impossible for them to remain together because of the gangster family feud. Laura was living in an apartment he owned in Warsaw when he sent her back. After leaving him, she initially felt uneasy, but over time, she began to take charge of her life. She told Olga, her best friend, the truth. When she learned the specifics, she was astounded and warned the woman about the dangers. She had Laura have a makeover; with blonde hair cut in a short bob, Laura appeared completely different. Her ex began to follow her while she partied at the club and requested a second look. Despite her repeated requests for him to leave, he followed her to her home. Massimo urged Martin to leave her alone as she walked into her home. Laura was delighted to see Martin back in her life after he left. They admitted that they loved one another. She had an engagement ring on her finger when she awoke the following morning. She granted Massimo’s request for her hand in marriage.
Although Laura wanted to hide the specifics of his business life from them, he met her family. Only her best friend was invited to their wedding ceremony because she was aware of the reality. Olga was first upset when she learned the information. She warned Laura about the risks of being hitched to an Italian criminal, but she was aware that Laura was in love, or at least she thought she was. Olga pushed Laura to tell him that she was expecting his child as well. She called him as they were driving home from looking for wedding dresses. Mario, Massimo’s dependable aide, got a call alerting him to the danger to Laura. Massimo was already there when he hurried over to tell him the news. Although police cars were already en route to the area, Laura’s automobile remained in the tunnel.
We now know that Laura has survived the catastrophe thanks to the sequel, 365 Days: This Day, which will be available on Netflix, but the danger still exists. The rivals of Massimo were still angry about what happened at the club, and after trying to kill Massimo, they turned their attention to Laura. We might anticipate more explicit imagery in the Polish sequel, but we can also hope for some attention to the narrative. Although the chances are remote, we can only hope that Laura will play a role in the follow-up. The thriller will now include a new enigmatic character, whose existence will only become clear after the movie’s premiere.
