Lola views the absence of foreign distributors as an opportunity to expand the brand internationally. She stays at the farm all day to give them her undivided attention.
As Max gets to know Lola more and pays close attention to how she thinks, he realises that she has a unique spark. She might be exactly what the brand needs. When Hamish King, Lola’s longtime and devoted customer, learns that she is coming back from Australia, he says he will wait for her. Audra, who recently replaced Lola, learns that Lola might try to snare the client before Mythos Wines has a chance. The two fly out to meet Hazel after she informs her boss.
After giving Lola a tour of their winery and a wine tasting, Max wants to take her camping for the night. When Lola tastes the highly costly bottle of wine from a renowned winemaker at the Vaughn Winery, she is ecstatic. She learns that Max has a unique palate and a clever approach to wine that she did not expect, but she also lets him know that Hazel seems to be the only representation of the brand. Max finds this annoying and is forced to be honest about the brand’s partners. But he holds off on telling her right away.
Max surprises Lola with the same $200 bottle just before she goes to bed. She is surprised and feels unique as they kiss. Lola is ecstatic, but Max feels awful the following morning. After clearing the internet of any known connections to her, Lola is shocked to discover that Max is Hazel’s brother and that he is the one who is her business partner in the Family Wine Company.
