  2. ‘Hasina Maan Jaagi’ managed to perform well at the box office. After this Prakash Mehra made films like ‘Mela’ and ‘Samadhi’. In 1973, Prakash Mehra got Amitabh Bachchan. ‘Zanjeer’ gave Bollywood the angry man as Amitabh. After this, Prakash Mehra made several consecutive films with Amitabh. Out of this, ‘Khoon Sweat’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’, ‘Lavaris’, ‘Namak Halal’ and ‘Sharabi’ proved to be hits in their time.
  3. In 1996, Prakash Mehra created ‘Bal Brahmachari’. In this he cast Rajkumar’s son Puru Rajkumar, but the film was not successful. This was Prakash Mehra’s last film as a director.
  4. Prakash Mehra was one of the early directors who also tried out in Hollywood. But his project could not succeed due to the huge budget. On 7 May 2009, due to pneumonia and other diseases, he left the world from Mumbai. He was awarded the Life Times Award in 2006 by the India Motion Pictures Directors Association.

In the same year, he directed Shashi Kapoor’s film Hasina Maan Jaagi, in which Shashi Kapoor played a double role. After this he directed ‘Mela’ in 1971, in which Feroze and Sanjay Khan played the lead roles. A year later, the film ‘Samadhi’ was also successful.
