Based on a webtoon, Business Proposal is a charming, delightful, and hilarious Netflix original K-drama. Although the 12-episode series contains a few clichés, it shines as the most well-liked K-drama on Netflix so far in 2022. The admirable acting, particularly by Kim Sejeong, the lovely chemistry between the four protagonists, and the perfect comic timing are all factors in the popularity of the series.
Business Proposal Plot Summary
The young, obstinate CEO of GoFood, Kang Tae Moo, has a devoted (and alluring) secretary named Sung Hoon. The chairman of the company and Tae Moo’s grandfather are constantly pressuring the young woman to start dating and live life. He reluctantly convinces Jin Yeong Seo of the Marine Group to go on a blind date with Tae Moo. In order for their businesses to merge and benefit from both, Yeong Seo’s father encourages her blind date with Tae Moo. She does, however, want to get married for love and not for financial gain. In order to avoid this, Jin Yeong Seo asks her closest friend Ha Ri to go on a blind date while dressed as her. Shin Ha Ri is a dedicated food researcher at GoFood who also lends a hand at the chicken restaurant owned by her relatives. She shows up for the blind date and reluctantly decides to assist Yeong Seo because she could use the extra cash. Ha Ri learns that Tae Moo is the CEO of her company to her surprise, but she chooses to keep up her act.

The Fake Relationship
Ha Ri manages to impress Tae Moo in spite of all of her attempts to the contrary, and he decides to wed her right away! Tae Moo meets the real Yeong Seo while attempting to convince her and learns that his date was a fraud. Ha Ri reveals to him that she is Shin Geum Hui in order to handle the situation and keep her job.
By acting as his lover in front of his grandfather, Tae Moo wants her to make up for lying to him. She begins living under a double alias, Shin Ha Ri at work and Shin Geum Hui outside of work, after being unable to escape the circumstances. Chairman Kang has a terrific first impression of her, and their fictitious relationship goes off without a hitch. As they pretend to be a couple, Ha Ri learns that Tae Moo fears the rain because of a traumatic childhood experience. The two become friends and become closer. Meanwhile, Ha Ri’s suggestion of White Kimchi Ravioli is a smash, and business sales soar. Tae Moo discovers her true identity when he searches through her database to evaluate Ha Ri’s performance!
On the other hand, Yeong Seo finds her own apartment right next to Sung Hoon’s and leaves her father’s home. Sung Hoon continues to reject her advances because he fears that Tae Moo would find their proximity uncomfortable. One day, Yeong Seo is shielded by Sung Hoon from an obnoxious man who was trying to record them at her residence. Tae Moo hurries to the police station with Ha Ri as soon as he learns about the issue. Ha Ri understands that Tae Moo is aware of her true identity as a result. She is ecstatic, though, when Tae Moo offers to give her extra work instead of firing her. Tae Moo is attempting to spend more time with Ha Ri because he loves her, but Ha Ri is oblivious of this.
Business Proposal Ending Explained: Does Love Persist Despite The Odds?
Shin Ha Ri assists Min Woo in locating a position as a cook at GoFood. She has been trying to move past her seven-year obsession on Min Woo because he is dating her friend Yoo Ra. Tae Moo reveals his feelings for Ha Ri and invites her out while she tries to concentrate on her work. Ha Ri declines Tae Moo in light of their respective social standings and jobs at the organisation. However, she accidentally kisses him while trying to justify herself! Tae Moo makes the decision to convince her by requesting payment from Ha Ri for the kiss. As a result, Ha Ri is unaware that they are actually going on dates when they spend time together! At the same time, Yeong Seo tells Sung Hoon how she feels, and the two begin dating.
When Chairman Kang discovers that Tae Moo is no longer dating Geum Hui, he arranges for him to go on another blind date. Ha Ri eventually admits her actual feelings for Tae Moo after resisting this for so long. In addition, Tae Moo cancels his blind date and begins a covert connection with Ha Ri. Yeong Seo decides to leave her father’s business and start over with her boyfriend after observing how critical her father is of Sung Hoon. Yeong Seo accepts Sung Hoon’s marriage proposal, and the two get joyfully engaged.
In the comments area of her popular video with Min Woo, Yoo Ra confesses her relationship with Tae Moo out of envy for Shin Ha Ri’s joy. Chairman Kang wants Ha Ri to end her relationship with Tae Moo and quit her job when she is embarrassed at work, but she adamantly refuses! To get Tae Moo’s attention, Chairman Kang poses as unwell. Unexpectedly, Ha Ri decides to pay him a visit and takes good care of him. Tae Moo and Ha Ri are able to win her parents over to their relationship while also softening his heart.
One day, Tae Moo informs Ha Ri that his grandfather’s condition has gotten worse and that he needs to travel to the US for medical attention. As a result, he invites her to travel to the US with him. Ha Ri declines to join but assures him that she would wait for him in order to stop the rumours from getting worse and impacting their life. Following a year of long-distance dating, Tae Moo returns to Korea to see Ha Ri. He informs her that his grandfather has finally given his relationship his blessing and that he should not go without asking her to marry him. Tae Moo then pulls out the ring and asks Shin Ha Ri to marry him. Despite the challenges, the two’s romance endures and deepens.
Final Words
The fact that Business Proposal employs webtoon features as a springboard for humour makes the show enjoyable to watch. These components are amusing, especially the images of the phone calls made by the archaeopteryx! The four main characters’ interactions are enjoyable to watch even if the show contains numerous clichés from a normal K-drama. The creators did a great job by not extending the series to 16 episodes and cutting it off while it was still fun. A revitalising romantic comedy called Business Proposal transports viewers to a time when K-dramas did not experiment with sensational genres in an effort to gain international popularity. The Netflix original series is charming, uncomplicated, and enjoyable to watch only once!
