Famous choreographer Saroj Khan has died at Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. Saroj Khan, who was admitted with a breath complaint on June 17, has died of cardiac arrest at 1.52 am today. Choreographer Saroj Khan was suffering from severe diabetes and related illness. His corona virus test was negative. She was 71 years old.

In the family of Saroj Khan, husband B. Sohanlal is survived by sons Hamid Khan and daughters Hina Khan and Sukna Khan. Saroj Khan started working as a background dancer at the age of three, got her first break as an independent choreographer in 1974 with ‘Geeta Mera Naam’.

The three-time National Award winner has been credited with choreographing 2000 songs, including several iconic dance numbers. These include Mr. India’s Ka Hawa Hawaii (1987), Tezaab Se Ek Do Teen (1988), Son Dhak-Dhak Kane Laga (1992) and Dola Re Dola from Devdas (2002). He last choreographed Madhuri Dixit in Karan Johar’s production Kalank Taabh Ho Gayi in 2019.

Saroj Khan came into the news in January after she accused choreographer Ganesh Acharya of exploiting her dancers and defaming the Cine Dancers Association (CDA) by misusing her position. She even said that she would go to various artists and ask them not to join Ganesh. In an interview with Zoom TV, he had said, ‘Who should tell Rohit Shetty. I will go, speak to me, I will go, I am not afraid of Ganesh or anyone. I am not afraid. I will go and tell them the truth. They want to break CDA. He wants to degrade us and is sitting on top of himself.
