The news of the suicide came from Nawanshahr where a 44-year-old female nurse from Kamau Nagar ended her life by injecting herself with poison. Disclosing this here today, Inspector Ashok Kumar said that the woman nurse Davinder Kaur had committed suicide by injecting poison in her own house. The information that has come to light states that the reason for this suicide is change of place of duty and mental distress arising from it.
It is learned that the deceased woman was admitted to PGI. She was working in Chandigarh and got a new OPD. There was a lot of anxiety about shifting duty from one place to another. The woman was also found to have cut her vein a few days before committing suicide.
According to Amit Kumar, husband of the deceased Davinder Kaur, his wife was in trouble due to change of duty. That is why he had taken 2 months leave. She was admitted to a new OPD but when she went to Ditui, she was harassed for submitting her medical deposit. Davinder said she would submit after the lockdown, but was repeatedly harassed by seniors and threatened with dismissal.
Police have registered a case against four persons on the basis of statements made by the deceased’s husband. The police have started the next operation by placing the body of the deceased woman at the mortuary.
