On May 18, at Yamashiro Hollywood in Los Angeles, Dr. Luke received the ASCAP award for pop music songwriter of the year.
Instead of the official 2023 ASCAP Pop Music Awards, a private party was organised, honouring ASCAP honorees. This is Dr. Luke s third win in this category. In the history of 40 years, only three songwriters have won pop music songwriter of the year three or more times at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards.

Martin won eleven times, followed by Diane Warren with five. Lionel Richie and Dr. Luke aee tied by wining three times. The amount of shares a writer has in songs are multiplied by the songs impressions determines, who won the ASCAP Pop Music Award for the songwriter of the year.
Apart from this, Stay sung by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber, won the ASCAP pop music song of the year. The song hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also remained on the chart for 63 weeks. The song was published by Universal Music Publishing Group and Bieber Time Publishing.
Other writers recognised for their ASCAP Pop Music Award-winning songs included Billy Walsh for Die for You, I Like You, One Right Now , Cardi B for Wild Side , Dua Lipa for Sweetest Pie , Foushe for Bad Habit , Greg Kurstin for Easy on Me , Henry for Cirkut, Kim Petras for Unholy and Louis Bell for I Like You .
