The Supreme Court on Friday said it will hear the bail application of RJD supremo.

A bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has asked the CBI to reply in this regard till April 9 and said that the hearing on the bail application of Lalu Prasad will be done on Wednesday April 10. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Lalu Prasad, demanded immediate hearing on the bail plea saying that the notice has been issued in the matter.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that in the case the agency needs to file a reply. The bench said, “You (CBI) filed a reply by April 9. We will hear the matter on April 10 (the bail application of Lalu Prasad). ” At present, the RJD chief locked in Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi has challenged the Jharkhand High Court’s decision to reject his bail petition on January 10.
Lalu Prasad has been convicted in three cases related to fodder scam worth over Rs 900 crore. These cases were related to the fraud of the treasury from the treasury of the animal husbandry department in the early 1990’s. At that time Jharkhand was a part of Bihar.
