He has told, ‘Our beloved Rishi Kapoor died in the hospital at 8:45 am today after a two-year battle due to leukemia. The hospital’s doctors and medical staff said that he was entertaining them till the last time. During two years of treatment in two continents he was determined to live it to the fullest. Family, friends, food and movies remained at his center and everyone visiting him was surprised at how he did not let his illness dominate him. And he kept smiling till the end.
The note further states, ‘He was grateful for the love of his fans which he had received from all over the world. On his death they will all understand that he would prefer to be remembered with a smile and not with a tear. In this hour of personal loss we also understand that the world is going through very difficult and troubled times. There are several restrictions on public gathering due to the lockdown. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and family friends to respect the rules of lockdown. He would also like it.
