Today (13 September) is the birthday of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pardes heroine Mahima Chaudhary. Mahima is 46 years old and is completely missing from the film screen. Mahima last appeared in the 2016 Bengali film Dark Chocolate, which was based on the Sheena Bora murder case. Due to lack of work, Mahima’s financial condition had deteriorated considerably, which she also mentioned in an interview.
In an interview given to Mid Day in 2017, Mahima said that due to lack of roles, she had to distance herself from the industry. Mahima created a sensation by saying that she had to cut ribbons in functions to make a living. Mahima had said, “I was single then and I had to earn money. It is difficult to work in films with a child, but you have to spend a lot of time. Then I worked as a judge in some TV shows, many functions. I arrived and did ribbon cutting because it was convenient for me. Through this I started getting quick and good money. ”
In this interview, Mahima goes on to say, “Now when I look back, I feel that those things have ruined me as an actress.” After 2006, Mahima’s onscreen presence has reduced drastically. After a very successful debut from Pardes in 1997, Mahima appeared in films like ‘Daag- The Fire’, ‘Pyaar Koi Khel Nahi’, ‘Dhadak’, ‘Deewane’, ‘Om Jai Jagdish’ and ‘Dil Hai Tumha’.
Mahima’s real name is Ritu Chaudhary, which she changed for films. Prior to appearing in films, Mahima also worked in TV Commercials. A cold drink advertisement with Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai earned him headlines. Mahima also worked as a VJ.
Mahima had been in a relationship with tennis player Leander Paes, but due to his affair with Riya Pillai, Mahima stayed away from Leander. She was married to architect businessman Bobby Mukherjee in 2006. They have an 8-year-old daughter, Arianna. Recently there was news that Mahima might join Bigg Boss 13, but she denied it.
