The Duffer Brothers’ television series Stranger Things is as concerned with the paranormal events that occur in Hawkins, Indiana, as it is with the friendships that ultimately protect the town from the fury of the creatures that emerge from the other dimension known as the Upside Down. No matter how difficult the situation became, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Mike were always there for one another. Eleven and Max, the newest members of the core group, have assimilated into it. Max and Eleven initially had a lot of animosity and miscommunication, but after overcoming hardships together, they were able to work through their differences and ensure that they were closer than ever. The Mind Flayer was still alive even after Eleven shut the door to the other dimension, and it was only a matter of time before it wrecked further devastation in the lives of Hawkins’ defenceless residents.
Stranger Things Season 3: Plot Summary What Is Season 3 About?
In Hawkins, Indiana, things seemed to be going well and the community seemed to have overcome the horrors of the past. Jim Hopper, who continued to house Eleven, was under a lot of stress due of her relationship with Mike. The young couple were inseparable, and Lucas, Will, and Max were used to seeing them together most of the time. Together with Robin, a coworker and fellow classmate, Steve Harrington was employed at Scoops Ahoy at the Starcourt Mall. Will frequently sensed a paranormal presence, but he kept it a secret from the rest of the group. Nancy Wheelers and Jonathan Buyers were employed by the newspaper Hawkins Post, while Billy had taken up the role of pool instructor.
After being away from his summer camp for a month, The Gold Leader, also known as Dustin, was eager to see his friends once more. As usual, he had tales to tell and was extremely proud of his innovation, which he also wanted to display. A radio tower had been created by Dustin, and it was called Cerebro. The group was astonished to learn that he had more important news. Suzie, a girl who resided in Utah and was a member of a Mormon household, was Dustin’s current girlfriend.
Through his radio tower, Dustin tried to reach Suzie, but there was no interference. The other members believed that Dustin was fabricating the entire Suzie story and that Suzie didn’t actually exist. Dustin hears a voice on his smartphone as soon as the others head home. Dustin was unable to understand a word being said in Russian. As his friends had abandoned him, he felt the need to confide in someone and went to Steve to tell him about the conspiracy.
Mike had been cautioned by Hopper to avoid Eleven. Mike was now in a very perilous situation as a result. Eleven suspected he might be lying since he was making up the details. Eleven didn’t fully comprehend human behaviour because she had grown up in an experimental facility under difficult conditions. When Max hears about it, he advises her to avoid Mike as much as possible. A gloomy shade hung over Hawkins, one cast by brooding romances, a few miscommunications, and recent revelations. The Mind Flayer was back, and the adolescent detectives and the select few who had survived the mayhem and growing mystery once more held the key to the future of the community.

How Did The Mind Flayer Come Back?
Mrs. Joyce Byers was attempting to figure out why suddenly her magnets stopped sticking. She thought it was really mysterious, but she was unable to come up with a logical explanation, so she went to see Scott Clarke, the adolescents’ science instructor. He informed her that her magnets could only be demagnetized by a strong magnetic field. Hopper and Joyce discover Dr. Alexei, a Russian scientist, while looking into the demagnetizing event. Dr. Alexei informs them that the Russians were developing a key to enter the Upside Down. They had constructed a complicated piece of technology to open up the dimension that Eleven had closed in the previous season using her power, and the Starcourt mall served as the hub of all the operations. The Mind Flayer was giving rats’ and people’ bodies chemicals and fertilisers, which caused the bodies to melt and become a mushy, semi-liquid substance. The Mind Flayer was then merged with this melted substance, which assisted it in regaining its physical form. Every day that went by, the Mind Flayer expanded in size and become possibly much more dangerous.

Why Did Mind Flayer Attack Billy? Is He Dead?
The Mind Flayer reestablished himself in the human dimension as the portal to the other dimension widened and began harassing Hawkings residents. Mind Flayer, like all other bad spirits, preyed on those who had suffered some sort of psychological injury or trauma that had been haunting them for years. Billy was the ideal host for the Mind Flayer to achieve its ulterior goals because the monsters of the dark feed upon these memories. When Billy was still a child, his mother abandoned him. Billy’s mother left the house in the first place because of his aggressive father, who later reared him. Billy had constructed this harsh persona for himself as a result of growing up in such a toxic atmosphere, along with the feelings of being abandoned by one’s mother, and he was concealing his insecurities and vulnerabilities beneath this persona. The Mind Flayer understands exactly how to use him, turns him into his most dependable agent, and assigns him the task of raising an army.
The Mind Flayer intended to use Billy to take over other individuals, persuade them to support it, and ultimately accomplish its main objective—killing Eleven. Eleven was the main target because it was thought that she was the only one who could actually stop it. In one of her psychokinetic visions, Eleven learns that the Mind Flayer was planning to murder not only her but also her entire friend group. Perhaps the Mind Flayer’s evil scheme’s ultimate objective was to govern the human realm, reign over it, and be its supreme king.
Eleven reminds Billy of his upbringing, a small portion of which she has seen in one of her psychic visions, as the Mind Flayer in its ultimate form tries to kill Eleven and her allies during the climactic combat scene. She was aware that, while being under the Mind Flayer’s control, Billy’s true identity remained ingrained in his brain. Eleven’s voice implores the fearful child who turned into a bully to perhaps just flee from his history. Billy fights his inner demons and confronts Eleven and her impending death. Billy takes comfort in doing honourably and conquering his own reservations before the Mind Flayer tears him apart.
Stranger Things Season 3: Ending Explained Is Hopper Dead Or Alive? Has Eleven Lost Her Powers?
Eleven appeared to be without her abilities. She was able to exert such powerful mental force and control over objects that, on occasion, not even the Mind Flayer could resist it. But as Season 3 of Stranger Things comes to a close, we witness that Eleven loses all control to the point where she is unable to move the smallest of objects. She was working extremely hard to restore the power, but for some reason she was unable to. Mike assures her that she will eventually get it back, so don’t worry. Perhaps her state has been brought on by stress and painful events. We observed Eleven exerting every ounce of energy she possessed on several occasions; perhaps this caused her to become burnt. But she would probably get it back in due course.
Joyce noticed that Hopper was standing close to the equipment where the laser was emitted. But since lives were on the line, she had no choice. When she presses the button, the device erupts, and Hopper disappears into thin air. The Mind Flayer was unable to communicate with the Upside Down since the door was shut.
However, the mid-credits scene delivered two unexpected revelations. On the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka, a Demogorgon was kept as a captive. This indicates that there are still creatures from the Upside Down in the planet, and there may be a chance for the species to be actively expanding. Second, the soldiers locked the Demogorgon in a cage with a prisoner from Russia. An American prisoner was housed in the room next door. Given that we never saw the man’s corpse, this person may very well be Jim Hopper. He simply disappeared, and everyone assumed he had passed away. Perhaps he was captured by the Russians and taken to this facility so they could use him as leverage. There was a reason the Russians established their facility in Hawkins. Since Hopper had been there from the beginning, the Russians might have believed that they might learn important information from him given the importance of the place.
What To Expect From Stranger Things Season 4?
The Byers family had relocated to California, and Eleven had moved with them, in order to keep Eleven out of the government s sight, who might have perceived Eleven as a potential threat. But as a matter of fact, the impending doom now loomed over the whole world, and just because they had moved away from Hawkins wouldn t keep them out of danger. Season 4 will put more light on why the Russians were building a camp in Kamchatka. Maybe they wanted to achieve world dominance, considering it was the same era in which the cold war between America and Russia was at its peak, and eventually led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. In all probability, they thought that the Mind Flayer would help them to achieve that feat. Now, if Jim Hopper was also in their captivity (as seen in the trailer for Season 4), then they would have something in mind for him too. They wouldn t have brought him all the way to Russia if they didn t think that he could serve some purpose.
It is also to be kept in mind that if any creature returned from the Upside Down and waged a war, or if the Russians somehow managed to expand the species, as they already had a Demogorgon with them, then they would be unrestrained and the war would become one-sided as Eleven had lost her powers. We would have to wait and see how Eleven would get her powers back: Will she have to revisit her tormenting past to figure out a way, or would she find somebody, a mentor of sorts, who would guide her to retrieve it.
Season 4 of Stranger Things will shed more light on what fate has in store for the people of Hawkins, Indiana.
